before & after

Well, my daughter came home for a couple days, seems like I barely saw her, have to share her with the beau! That's ok, because I needed to redecorate my oldest's room/computer room/guest room.

The Night Before Thanksgiving

Thankful for:
My oldest two have arrived safely at their respective destinations. One in Florida to meet his girlfriends family for the first time! and the other home here with us. But wait, she's off to visit with her boyfriend, maybe we can visit tomorrow. My husband who understands my need to craft and helps me in so many ways. My mother who likes to craft with me!

So, I have been working on a few things. Made some beanies and crocheted flowers. Thinking I might try to sell a few at a craft show. My friends daughter modeling for me. Then I saw these cute flower barrettes made from wool, couldn't resist making a few of those.
We will see how it goes, maybe Etsy is in my future. Next project is to repaint and rearrange my oldest's room. It houses the computers and printers and his bed and dresser. Need to make it look nice for a Christmas visitor. Plan to take some before and after photos. Which by the way is what I am very thankful for today, my husband let me buy the camera! Canon EOS Rebel xs with two lens and bag and all the trimmings! Plan to take action shots during basketball season and many photos during our trip to Utah over Christmas break.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Need to start the tutorial....

Week in Review

Wait! Can you do a week in review on Monday? Oh well, better late than never...

Spent the week getting ready for an auction at my son's school. I made a few things.
A tote made out of pet screen. A zippered pouch... another smaller zippered pouch... and two fabric rosettes, one a hairclip and the other a pin. I had to resort to some hand stitching and gluing because we were having issues with our electricity. It seems a branch rubbed a spot on the wire leading to our house causing brown-outs. When DTE arrived they shut down our power stating it was a FIRE HAZARD! So in the mean time I enjoyed reading the article in  Woman's Day magazine about Ashley (my favorite blogger!)  Since we had no power, my dear husband took the laundry to the laundry mat! Lest you think he did this solely from the goodness of his heart, he had to do it, he was getting ready to leave for Florida and needed to pack (more on that later). My Parents took us out to eat (even though the power had been restored).

Mom made dessert, my hubby delivered!
Friday was the big auction. The kids did great, it was a huge success. Saturday I stopped by to see Mitus' offspring.
 Getting fat!
Ran all over the place. First with mom to Hobby Lobby, Archiver's and JoAnn's and then with my friend to Parisian, 7/11, JoAnn's (again!) and Target. Picked up a few items....
made the lion while listening to TV. I can do these things since my husband is in Florida playing baseball with his friends in MSBL.

First Post

What am I thinking? I really don't have time to devote to a blog. This will take time away from my crafting, but I cannot seem to resist. I would like to share a few things I have been doing and thinking about. I left for South Carolina on Oct. 31st to see my two oldest at school and to chaperone 38 teens at a fine arts festival. I made mummy boxes for my kids. What do you think?
I'm not sure the kids appreciated the boxes, but I know they liked the gifts I put inside them.

I saw this skirt on an adorable young lady in South Carolina last week. I love the fabric and the style. I need to make one of these (someday). The young lady thought a was a nut when I asked if I could have a picture.

Mitus is a daddy, aren't they cute? Two females and a male. They are 8 days old in this picture.
I came home from SC on Friday and went to a wedding on Saturday. I made a quilt for the newly weds.
Foundation pieced on muslin. Super easy and uses up scraps, no need for fat-quarters. Just the right size to cuddle and watch TV or read under.
One more before I retire for the evening...
I made The ABC's of a Wedding for the groom's mother and gave it to her at the shower. It is an album that you put the corresponding pictures into.
E is for engagement. (this pic is pre-words)
I is for invitation. (sorry it is sideways)
Anyway, you get the idea, A is for aisle, B is for bride, C is for cake, etc.
